Directors of Burnett Regional Funeral Services since 2007 and Childers Woodgate Funeral Services since 2011.

Fred is a registered nurse and midwife and Shirley is a qualified teacher. Fred and Shirley are local people caring for local communities. Both Fred and Shirley have a proven track record of being caring, considerate, tactful, sympathetic and at all times discreet.

“Where caring comes first” is not just a motto, but something the Hampsons believe in and live by, not only from arranging the funeral but to the after care of families as well.

Whilst Fred and Shirley were initially based in Gayndah, they purchased a house at Woodgate Beach in 2012 and these days divide their time between Woodgate Beach and Gayndah. They are thankful to have a very supportive team that enables them to work between both businesses.

Shirley possesses her Certificate IV in Celebrancy whilst Fred has studied the relevant units for becoming a funeral celebrant.

Both have years of experience in dealing with bereaved families and will work with families to ease the burden of their loss and organize a funeral service that is personalized and celebrates the life of your loved one in a way that their life is worth celebrating.

Both Shirley and Fred are available to perform any type of funeral service required by families including religious and non-religious ceremonies, cultural specific ceremonies, graveside services, committal ceremonies at crematoriums.

They possess the qualities of a highly qualified, professional celebrants:

Leighton Kreis

Leighton is one of our very versatile employees who works as a Mortuary Attendant as well as a Funeral Director’s Assistant. Leighton works full time in the Aged Care industry and prior to this was employed in repairs and maintenance for the aged and infirmed at Hervey Bay. Leighton has been employed by us on a casual basis since the inception of the company and is not only a valuable asset to our business, but to the community at large.

Ellie Chevins

Ellie is happy to work for the caring and respectful team at Burnett Regional Funeral Services. Her work is mainly of an administrative nature, though she is particularly grateful to have the opportunity to be of assistance with direct involvement with funeral and cremation arrangements/services. Ellie is our youngest team member, she has a positive approach to all aspects of life and has a maturity and level of wisdom that is not common in young adults.

Amy Golchert

Amy was educated in Gayndah and has a Bachelor of Education (Teaching) and as Fred and Shirley’s daughter, it was a natural progression that she came to work for Burnett Regional Funeral Services. She works in all areas of the funeral business, from administration through to funeral service delivery. Amy is considered to be one of our quiet achievers as she quite often works diligently behind the scenes. Amy along with her husband, Ben, now operate a business of their own – HiTide Swim School – therefore, she only works for us on an as needs basis.

Ben Golchert

Ben assists our Mortuary Team with After Hours Transfers. During the daylight hours, he works in the building industry and is co-manager of HiTide Swim School. Ben married Fred and Shirley’s daughter, Amy, in 2014 and is often called upon, after hours to assist where he can. He is also considered a valuable, quiet achiever of the BRFS team.

Melissa Sadler

Welcome back to Mel who has been on maternity leave. We look forward to seeing more of your lovely smiling face around and of course, using your particular skills to our benefit.

Chris Kreis

Chris – ever reliable and helpful Chris – who works with After Hours Transfers. Chris works as a janitor at the local high school but is very willing to offer his services after hours when required.

Trent Hetherington

Trent assists our Mortuary Team with After Hours Transfers. During the daylight hours, he for the North Burnett Regional Council. Trent is often called upon, after hours to assist where he can. He is also considered a valuable, quiet achiever of the BRFS team.

Sam Euler

Samantha (known as Sam) is the latest member of our team.  She is a wife and mother of two sons, Hudson and Riley.  Sam has lived in Gayndah since she was seven years old and attended both the local primary and high schools.  Sam is proud to have grown up in such a caring community.  She has previously worked in childcare and retail pharmacy.  We have found Sam to be an honest, approachable and dependable individual both personally and professionally.  We are very happy to welcome her to our team.
